Most of my working life I’ve been in Manchester, apparently long enough to become an 'honorary' Northerner.
In that time I have been fortunate enough to shoot some great campaigns and picked up a few awards along the way.
As a photographer it has meant being diverse, shooting people for portraiture, lifestyle, cars, trucks and recently motor-yachts sometimes altogether and I love the variety.
I cut my teeth in multi-media, and for years was sent around the world to shoot in private banks, jungles, deserts, hospitals, boardrooms and other random places. It’s given me great training to capture unique moments and an early introduction to storytelling, production and video.
It’s also brought advertising, design and live event clients for whom my best work is typically a team
effort; Creative thinkers, ingenious assistants, solid producers, MUAs, stylists and cool talent all help make it happen on the day.
That kind of collaboration enables me to shoot and direct video. I find having experience in contrasting creative environments a real boost for my work and I’m equally happy behind a stills or film camera. Getting the well-crafted shot excites me and then using all the toys for post production is fabulous.
It’s truly the very best time to be an image maker.
