Current competition categories:

Each year we invite entries from photographers (and nominations from designers, in specific categories).
These are judged by an independent panel.
The results are presented as an Exhibition, Book and Web site.
This includes the top 50 entries in Best Image category, and the top three winners in all other categories.

Entry Qualification:

Photographers must be...
1. full time professionals
2. based in the northern regions*
3. must be working within the disciplines of either advertising, design, fashion or editorial.
Designers may be based anywhere but can only nominate photographers based in the northern regions*.

Professional Verification:
By entering the SUN Awards all entrants agree that for the purposes of verifying their professional status and location they 1) may be visited by the organisers or their agents 2) and agree to provide supporting evidence on request.
Any entrant who does not meet the criteria will forfeit all fees and other monies and agree to cover all consequential costs which can include reconvening the judging panel and reprinting the SUN book.
