Tracey Gibbs interviews Andy Cheetham for the SUN Awards 2006. They discuss finding new talent, choosing who to commission, fulfilling a brief, fees, the digital era, and more.

Andy founded CheethamBell in 1992 with partner David Bell. The agency soon became Manchester’s creative hotshop winning over 250 local, national and global awards in an eight year period. In early 2001 CheethamBell merged with JWT to become CheethamBellJWT.
CBJWT has been in the top 5 most creatively ranked JWT agencies across Europe, Middle East and Africa for the past 3 years. Andy is on the IPA council and was made a fellow of the IPA in 2002.

SUN sets north 9th March

The SUN Awards are due to move north with an even bigger show than last year at The Biscuit Factory in Newcastle.

SUN Special Edition Prints (Biscuit Factory selection):
Gallery director Andy Balman was a judge for the current awards and is very keen to support a growing photographic market. As a result, alongside the SUN Awards showcase, we will be featuring The Biscuit Factory’s specially selected SUN Edition of framed art prints for sale.

Private View:
The SUN exhibition coincides with The Biscuit Factory’s Spring Launch on 9th March. Last year over 800 people attended the Preview Evening and we can expect a similarly enthusiastic reception this time around.

2006 SUN Awards announced

This year’s SUN Awards were announced tonight (26/10/06) at the Lowry Hotel, Manchester.

The exhibition continues at the Lowry Hotel till 4 Nov, viewing times 11am to 11pm.
It then moves to the Leeds Innovation Centre, where it can be seen from 8 November.
